Chapli Kabab: Beef Kabab Recipe

Chapli Kabab, a juicy kabab made of beef or keema, also called Beef Kabab, chapli kabab is the perfect party snack that you can include in your menu. These kababs melt-in-your-mouth are prepared with onions, salt, black pepper, tomatoes, and coarsely ground mutton.

It was originally made from beef in Peshawar. Chicken and mutton can now be found as well. Chapli Kabab recipes have evolved depending on the region, adding regional spices to it, but in Peshawari Chapli Kababs are still prepared with the minimum of ingredients.

     These spicy meatballs, a specialty of Pashtun cuisine, are prepared with a mixture of ground beef or mutton. The remarkable kind of Chapli kabab comes from dried coriander and flavors, for example, pomegranate seeds, green chillis, and mint. Chapli kabab is not only popular in Pakistan but also popular in different parts of South Asia. The dish becomes a favorite for its unique blend of flavor and texture.

      Chapli kabab is cooked with marinated raw meat and the meat can be either beef or mutton, mix with onions and green chilies and different spices and give the round shape and fry them.

     Some chefs deep-fry the mutton kebabs over charcoal for an organic flavor. Some foodies avoid this method.

    Ingredients for making juicy Chapli Kababs

    • 1 serving of cooking spray 
    • 1 egg, lightly beaten 
    • 400 g ground beef 
    • 1 finely chopped tomato 
    • 1 red onion, finely chopped 
    • ¼ cup finely chopped coriander 
    • ¼ cup finely chopped mint 
    • 2 teaspoons ginger-garlic paste 
    • 2 teaspoons coriander seeds, crushed 
    • 1 teaspoon salt 
    • ¾ teaspoon cumin 
    • ¾ teaspoon ground red pepper
    • 3 teaspoons gram flour ( roasted on low flame) 
    • ¼ cup vegetable oil for frying
    • 2 tomatoes, sliced ​​into rounds

     How to Make Chapli Kabab


      Cut the tomatoes into quarters and remove the eliminate the fluid with the seeds and finely cut them.  Finely slash the onion, press and eliminate the excess water from it, take a small bunch of new coriander and mint leaves, finely slashed. Squashed coriander seeds, take 3 teaspoons of gram flour, and roasted them until fragrant on low fire.



     Spray a small pan with cooking spray; lukewarm to medium-high heat. Put egg into the pan; Cook egg for 4 to 5 minutes, mixing, and until it set.



      In a bowl, mix scrambled eggs, ground beef, diced tomatoes, onion, coriander, mint, ginger-garlic paste, coriander seeds, salt, cumin, and paprika. Mix with hand until the mixture becomes well combined. Add roasted gram flour, and mix everything well, leave this mixture for only five minutes



      In a flat pan, Heat oil for shallow frying.Wet your hands with water and take a portion of the meat mixture to give the shape of a kebab or patties, put the slice of tomato in the center of the kebab, and directly place it on the pan.

     Once the kebabs are cooked from the bottom side, flip the Kebab and allow it to cook on the other side, fry on both sides for 2 to 3 minutes till they turn golden brown from both sides.

      Eliminate the kebabs on retentive paper to eliminate the abundance of fat.
